Comic Book Tesseract 2012.04.24

Jason once again takes the reins and discusses the last issue of G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes before its title changes, the new title change for Captain America and Hawkeye, formerly known as Captain America and Bucky. Cap's solo title is also tackled this week. All Star Western heads into Night of Owls, just how far back does the court's history in Gotham go? Batman The Dark Knight has a one shot story before diving into the Night of Owls, is this a good filler story? Near Death begins its new arc and delves deeper into redemption, it it worth the trip? Jason returns to reading Wolverine, is it a worthwhile bloody tale? Plus the big Marvel event Avengers vs. X-Men crosses into Uncanny X-Men and gives birth to VS; has Marvel made these worth picking up as part of the main event?
Plus don't forget Free Comic Book Day is May 5th 2012 so stop by your local comic shop.

Comic Book Tesseract: Singularity

Singularity is the companion podcast to the Comic Book Tesseract. This is where the topics that don't fit into the main show go to live and thrive.

The Eisner award nominees have been announced and the winners will be declared at SDCC on the evening of Friday, July 13th. One of the Eisner categories that's worth researching year-after-year is that of digital comics. This year's nominees include a few short, poignant stories like Bahrain: Lines in Ink, Lines in the Sand, Sarah and the Seed, and Outfoxed, all of which are completed works. Another completed tale is that of Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant.  The only still-ongoing nominee this year is the story of Battlepug.

Come listen to find out more about these comics, and why you should read them all.

Comic Book Tesseract - 2012.04.11

Comic Book Tesseract, the weekly comics netcast that is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. Every week we review and preview the world of comics along with other facets of geek-chic culture.

This week, Justin’s back and behind a mic again; so, it’s a good thing Jason’s here to keep him focused (mostly) on comics. The big discussion of this week is on the adaptation of classic properties into their iconic, pop-culture representations. This is compared and contrasted in discussions of Unwritten, Smoke & Mirrors, and Peter Panzerfaust. Carnage U.S.A. concludes this month. Was the mini-series a worthy reintroduction of Carnage back to the Marvel Universe? Meanwhile Saga, Green Lantern and Winter Soldier continue to churn along, each in their own inimitable fashion. All this and news, on this week’s Comic Book Tesseract.
